The Jack Bell Building renewal at the University of British Columbia transformed the existing facility into a modern, resilient hub for the School of Social Work. The comprehensive renewal included seismic upgrades, complete interior reconfiguration, and replacement of the building envelope, electrical, and mechanical systems to support contemporary teaching and research environments.

Designed with sustainability and long-term performance in mind, the project prioritized the reuse of the existing concrete and steel structure while introducing high-efficiency building systems and upgraded learning spaces. Careful coordination and phased construction helped deliver a renewed academic environment that supports collaboration, accessibility, and community connection within the UBC campus.
